Aurora veterinarian provided surgery for small dog

Parkside Animal Health Center is home to highly skilled and experienced veterinary surgeons. Our Aurora veterinary clinic is one of the top-rated practices in the area. Dr. Brenda Eisenhauer, owner and veterinarian, has performed thousands and thousands of surgeries through her time with Parkside and during her time with humane organizations in the Denver area.

Parkside is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) which means we are in a minority of clinics (less than 15% in fact!) that have decided to pursue this completely optional accreditation. The surgical standards set by AAHA are above and beyond the requirements set by Colorado laws.

Our veterinary team is comfortable with a variety of routine and specialty surgical procedures. Here’s a quick list covering just some of what we offer or have done in the past:

  • Spay and neuter surgeries
  • Mass removal
  • Amputations
  • Cherry eye repair
  • Bladder stone removal
  • Foreign body removal
  • Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus surgery
  • Heartworm removal surgery

While there is always a risk present with surgery, at Parkside we take as many precautions as possible to minimize this risk. Prior to surgery, each patient receives an extensive physical exam and blood work to make sure we have a good overall picture of your pet’s health. Additionally, one of Parkside’s experienced veterinary technicians monitors your pet’s vitals throughout the entire procedure using many of the same types of equipment that is used in human hospitals. Additionally, Parkside Animal Health Center provides post-operative laser therapy treatment for most pets.

When your pet is ready to go home, we will carefully review any after surgery instructions. If at any point you have questions about the procedures, post op instructions or treatments we are always only a phone call away.

We know how stressful it can be to have a pet undergo surgery, after all, we are all pet owners ourselves. In line with our core value of empathy and compassion, and our commitment to practicing top-tier veterinary medicine, we promise to treat your pet the same way we would treat our own.

Contact us to today to schedule an exam and give us an opportunity to exceed your expectations.
